Reducing Food Wastage

In 2022 more than 26 million lbs of unsold and edible food was donated to charities. Compared to the baseline, Hello Fresh have reduced landfill by 42%.

Food wastage remains a significant contributor of supermarket and supply chain waste. Subscription boxes are able to avoid this waste through use of planning to accurately estimate the business requirements. This data is shared with farmers

Along side company donations, Hello Fresh partner with the Felix Project which looks to donate food boxes to those who are hungry in our cities.

Over 4.9 million meals have been gifted to the charity to date. 

Hello fresh partnered with Social Farms & Gardens to help communities learn about living more sustainably. Through use of allotments, individuals of all ages are learning gardening skills and learn more about where their food comes from.

Hello Fresh targets are designed in conjuncture with SBTi (Science Based Targets initiative), a global body bringing ambitious and independent emissions reductions targets in line with the latest Paris Agreement goals.

Through these goals, Hello Fresh has seen its renewable energy usage in distribution centers and offices increase from 35% in 2020 to 53% in 2023 globally.
